WHAT WE BELIEVE
The King’s Church is committed to preserving, protecting, and passing on the “faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). We have a few guiding documents that we hope provide theological clarity.
Our CORE BELIEFS are what we hold to be the key doctrines that ground the Christian faith as they are found in the Scriptures. We expect all members of The King’s Church to be in full agreement with these CORE BELIEFS.
Our STATEMENT OF FAITH is an adapted version of the The Gospel Coalition’s Confessional Statement, while our THEOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVES are adapted from the five doctrinal distinctives of the Acts 29 Network. There are a number of secondary beliefs contained in each of these sections that heavily influence the culture and direction of our church. Complete agreement is not required for the sake of membership, but it should be known that we will preach, teach, lead, and counsel in accordance with these convictions.
We ask that all members understand the importance of being “eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3), and will proactively seek to avoid division over secondary issues while submitting to church leadership regarding their convictions on doctrinal issues from the Scriptures. As a church culture, we urge the following posture: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity”
