AFFILIATIONS
ACTS 29
Acts 29 is a diverse, global family of church-planting churches bound together by relationship, theology, and mission. We are thrilled to be a part of what God is doing and in through this network as disciples are being made and churches are being planted all around the world. We enthusiastically embrace the doctrinal distinctives of Acts 29 including theological clarity, cultural engagement, and missional innovation.
RENEW POLK
Renew Polk is a network of gospel-centered churches in our geographic area that is prayerfully working toward changing Polk County through church planting. Our partnership with Renew Polk provides support, community, training, and camaraderie as we seek to seek to make Jesus known in our city and county through church planting.
THE Florida BAPTIST CONVENTION
The Florida Baptist Convention connects us with over 40,000 churches worldwide, and our partnership provides us with unique opportunities to cooperate with other churches in meaningful ways. Some of these opportunities include church planting, missions, institutional resources, and seminary education.
PARTNERSHIPS
The King’s Church also partners with a number of other organizations locally and globally that help us bear witness to the gospel and the Kingdom of God. As a church, we prioritize partnerships that relate to three areas of ministry we feel particularly called to: Church Planting, Orphan Care, and blessing Dixieland / Historic District as we seek the flourishing of the city of Lakeland.
A Woman’s Choice is a pregnancy resource center here in Lakeland. This organization provides gospel-centered counseling and care for moms and dads who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. We partner with A Woman’s Choice in their annual Walk for Life.
Campus Outreach (CO) is a campus ministry working through local churches to reach and develop the next generation of Christ-centered leaders on university campuses. With a number of college campuses here in Lakeland, including Florida Southern College in the historic district, CO is engaged in the work of evangelism and discipleship on these campuses.
CarePortal is an organization that helps connect our church body directly to children and families in crisis situations. Through this partnership, we are notified when tangible needs arise to care for vulnerable children, and can respond with practical help, prayer, and the gospel, bringing hope and stability to those in our community who need it most. You can sign-up to join our CarePortal team HERE.
Compassion is releasing children in poverty in Jesus’ name through child sponsorships. Compassion works with local churches on the ground in some of the poorest areas in the world to provide holistic care for those in great need. You can watch a video HERE with more information about a church plant in Brazil that we sponsored with another Acts 29 church!
We have partnered with Made to Flourish to help establish a pastoral residency program at The King’s Church, designed to give aspiring pastoral leaders a season of immersive training and equipping before being sent out to plant a new church or lead an existing congregation. Made to Flourish also helps us to integrate a more robust theology of faith, work, and economics through vocationally informed discipleship.
As we seek to care for the fatherless & the motherless, we partner with One More Child specifically related to foster care ministry. OMC helps with both licensing and equipping families with training and practical resources to care for children in foster care. Watch a video HERE to learn more about our heart & motivation for foster care.
The King’s Church is the sponsor church for Teen Reach Adventure Camp (TRAC) Lakeland, a national 3-day camp program designed for youth and teens in foster care and their unique challenges. The purpose of this camp is to build self-value, creative positive memories and help provide a hope and a future to teens who have experienced abuse, neglect or abandonment in their lives. We also provide support for TRAC Life, a mentoring program that continues after camp throughout the year.
