Sowing in the field of the spirit
Galatians 6:6-18
Main Idea: Reaping the grace, peace, and mercy of God, only comes by sowing in the field of the Spirit.

Genesis 8:22: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
Sow the right seed
Sow good seed
Some Christians sow to the flesh every day and wonder why they do not reap holiness. Holiness is a harvest; whether we reap it or not depends almost entirely on what and where we sow.
~ John Stott
The Christian has only two fields in which he can sow, that of his own flesh and that of the Spirit.

Christianity vs. ‘Churchianity’
Mark 7:6-7: “And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
If we could have been forgiven by our own good works, by being circumcised and keeping the law, we may be quite sure that there would have been no cross. Every time we look at the cross Christ seems to say to us, ‘I am here because of you. It is your sin I am bearing, your death I am dying.’ Nothing in history or in the universe cuts us down to size like the cross. All of us have inflated views of ourselves, especially in self-righteousness, until we have visited a place called Calvary. It is there, at the foot of the cross, that we shrink to our true size.
~ John Stott
Galatians 6:3: For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
The world is not our treasure, Christ is.
